Ms. Jhenlen was not just any Towne Kids nurse. She was part of the very first batch of Filipino nurses ever deployed to the USA through Towne Kids. She was there before the 100th deployment. Before the 200th. Long before the Road to 400 began. She was among the nurses who helped prove that the Towne Kids model could work, that Filipino nurses could thrive in pediatric home care in New Jersey, and that the journey from the Philippines to the United States was not just a dream but a path that could be walked successfully.

After years of building her career in the USA, Ms. Jhenlen has returned not as a visitor but as the Towne Kids Clinical Director. She now brings everything she learned throughout her own deployment journey and channels it directly into supporting the nurses who are walking that same path today.

Furthermore, she knows the other side of that experience. The pride of having stayed the course. The satisfaction of having built something real for yourself and for your family in a country that once felt completely unfamiliar.

That lived experience is not something that can be taught in a classroom or written into a job description. It is something Ms. Jhenlen carries with her into every interaction she has with the nurses she now guides, and it changes the quality of that guidance entirely.

Drawing from the experiences she gained throughout her own USRN journey, Ms. Jhenlen is now fully dedicated to helping Towne Kids nurses feel supported and empowered at every stage of the deployment process.

Whether a nurse is still waiting on their priority date during retrogression, preparing for their clinical training, arriving in New Jersey for the first time, or navigating the realities of home care nursing in the United States, Ms. Jhenlen’s role is to make sure no nurse feels like they are facing any of it alone.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, her presence as someone who has personally lived the entire Towne Kids journey from first deployment to leadership sends a clear message to every nurse in the program. The journey you are about to take has already been walked, and the person who walked it first is now the one guiding you through it.
